Design for Hopeful Futures: A workshop series for activists, organizers, artists, and change-seekers.
In my over-a-decade of experience, I’ve noticed that many of my clients who are (or work with) non-profits, mutual aid organizations, or grassroots initiatives wear many hats, and one of these hats is often a beanie that reads ‘worn out canva-user’ on the front. Design can feel so frustrating when you don’t have experience or education in this world, and I frequently find myself giving one-on-one educational sessions to people in these roles who feel frazzled by the addition of graphic design work to their already overflowing plate.
By demystifying the world of graphic design I hope to empower people who want to use these skills to make a difference in their communities. It’s my hope to create ease, joy, and confidence for those who do this work by creating a lasting knowledge base and free resources that can be shared!
Each workshop will be a 1 hour 15 minute session, with space included for questions. There will be no replays available, although each session comes with a .pdf of the presentation materials as well as a list of free or low-cost design resources associated with or mentioned in the workshop.
Pricing for these workshops is sliding scale. I offer four tiers of sliding scale, with the cheapest being a free pro-bono seat. From there, tickets can cost $15, $30, or $45 per session. I ask that if you can afford to pay for a ticket that you please do so, as 50% of proceeds from these workshops will go towards HIAS Pennsylvania, an organization that provides legal and social services to low-income and at-risk immigrants and refugees.
